The making of “DESPITE THE VIOLENCE AROUND THE BLACK HOLE, THE GALACTIC CORE IS A FERTILE PLACE.”

DESPITE THE VIOLENCE AROUND THE BLACK HOLE, THE GALACTIC CORE IS A FERTILE PLACE.

Materials:
magazine pages, paints and inks on paper (various)

Motivation / mindset / meaning:
“DESPITE THE VIOLENCE AROUND THE BLACK HOLE, THE GALACTIC CORE IS A FERTILE PLACE.” is about feeling small. A smallness spun together with awe and wonder about the universe, our galaxy, atoms and molecules, the bits of matter that make up our lives and everything around us. (Space is expanding, and so is chemical space!) It’s about appreciating the beauty in patterns repeating at different scales and feeling the weight of how much lies beyond our imagination’s grasp. It’s chaotic (violent/fertile).
